It was dark, and the fog was thick, as I pulled out to meet the group for a ride to Winder.  As I hit the bypass, the fog really seemed to get thicker.  I had my snowmobile outfit on so the cold air didn't bother me, even though it was in the mid 40's.

As I pulled into the Pilot station, I started to worry.  There didn't seem to be anyone there.  Had they left me?  It was still 5 or 10 minutes before 7am, our meeting time.  Just then I saw a bike pulling away from the gas pumps.  At least I wasn't alone.

John Andrews was there.  We talked as we waited for the others to arrive.  Finally at around 7:10 we decided that we were the only ones going so we pulled out.  Bill and Betty Livingston and Rich Morgan were waiting for us when we got to Highway 32.  Now we are four bikes.

We made a quick stop at the new station at I-75 for a quick windshield cleaning before hitting the interstate.  Once we got above the construction around Cordele, it was clear sailing all the way to our first gas stop in Macon.  The temperature had dropped another couple of degrees, but with the heated grips, heated seat, and foot warmers, I was toasty warm.

As we hit the road again, the sun was up, the weather was warming and we were in hog heaven (oops that should be wing heaven).  We got off the interstate in Forsyth and from there to Winder, it was two lane blacktop with lots of woods, curves, and fun.

We finally arrived at Fort Yargo State Park in Winder, paid our $3.00 to get in the park, and paid our $5.00 to get in the Chapter S Sweetheart Poker Run.  Of course Bill, Betty, and John got busy with there district business and talking with all the people.  I wandered around a little while and decided it was time to head further north.
