Meet Jeff Verner

Chapter Director GA-H

For those of you who don’t know me, I’d like to introduce myself.  I am Jeff Verner and my wife’s name is Maud.  We are your new Chapter Directors for GWRRA Chapter H.  We have been married for almost 33 years; have 2 children and 2 grandchildren.  Maud is originally from Placentia, Newfoundland, Canada.  We met while I was on active duty in the U.S. Navy in 1971.  We were married in June 1973 and when I got off active duty we moved to Albany and have been here ever since.

My original background was heavy equipment and worked several jobs before going to work for the U.S. Marine Corp, Albany in 1981 and have a little over three years before I can retire  I was activated for Dessert Shield/Storm in 1990.  After 6 months of active duty, I returned home.  I retired from the U.S. Navy Reserve (Seabees) in 2001.

I travel quite a bit with my job, but will try my best to do a good job for you as chapter Director.  I have been riding motorcycles since 1978.  I began to race cars with one of my brothers in Sports Car Club of America in 1988.  We raced for about three years.  This was way too expensive.

I got back into motorcycles in 1999, and joined GWRRA in 2000.  I enjoy riding almost every weekend as well as riding to work everyday that I can.  I can’t get enough of this stuff.  I am planning to have at least one dinner ride     each month as well as attending other local chapter meetings during the week.  I look forward to riding with all of you and hope you will support Maud and me, as well as GWRRA.
